Meet The Team

The British Surgical Clinic was established in 2009 by Mr David Deardon after realising that there was a distinct need on the Costa del Sol for an English speaking surgical service. The large ex-patriot community based on the coast between Gibraltar, Marbella and Malaga, utilises the private healthcare services available on the Costa or return to the UK for treatment. In most of the former cases, patients are anxious about receiving treatment where language barriers exist, however the current financial climate precludes many from returning to the UK as frequently as they may like.

The British Surgical Clinic aims to provide the very best in UK-style surgical expertise on the Costa del Sol. By utilising and working with the highest quality hospital services available locally, our team is able to provide a seemless high level service to its patients.

By concentrating on individual needs, we endeavour to give each patient the specialist care they require.

PA to Mr David Deardon

Jane Naughton has lived on the Costa del Sol for the past 10 years since emigrating from the UK with her family. After living in various places as a child including the United States, South Africa and the UK, settling in Spain has provided all the ingredients for Jane to achieve a better lifestyle.

Jane gained a Higher National Diploma with Distinction and a City & Guilds Licentiateship in Hospitality Management at Bournemouth University. She was also one of only 10 students to work for the university in the role of Peer Assisted Learning, where she was trained by the university to help students with learning difficulties. Jane was also Chairman of the Student Representative Board for the School of Service Industries, representing over 1000 students at university board meetings. During and following this time, she went on to work in several management roles in the catering industry, finishing up with running a 250 seat gastro-pub before moving to Spain.

In the last 10 years, Jane worked in the finance industry, developing her skills in this area before accepting a challenging role in 2008 as Public Relations Manager of the High Care International Hospital in Marbella. In this role, she combined her knowledge and expertise from hospitality and finance to assist with not only the commercial development of the hospital but also the day to day hospital administration, along with dealing with enquiries and new patients into the hospital.

Jane joined the clinic in 2009 to assist with the business development of The British Surgical Clinic’s presence on the Costa del Sol, with particular emphasis on the services of Mr Deardon. She is responsible for coordinating Mr Deardon’s clinical activity and patient's care on the Costa del Sol, ensuring that each patient has a seemless and trouble free clinical experience whilst under the care of the British Surgical Clinic team.
